CONSULTATION

Proposed Admission Arrangements 2013/14

Cheetham Church of England Community Academy

The Admission Authority for a school/academy is required to consult on its admission arrangements when a change is proposed or every 3 years if no changes have been proposed.  The Admission Arrangements are the rules used to decide which applicants are offered places at a school when there are more applicants than places available.

The Governing Body of the Academy Trust is currently consulting on the admission arrangements for entry into the academy in the 2013/2014 academic year.

The planned Admission Number for Cheetham Church of England Community Academy is 60.  This remains unchanged.

The proposed changes are in line with the Local Authority proposals which are explained in document “Primary Schools Admissions Arrangements 2013-2014”This document can be found  on the school admissions website by following the following link.

Primary Schools Admissions Arrangements  for 2013-2014

The LA also has a statutory duty to co-ordinate admissions to all primary and  secondary schools and Academies. Although this is more of an administrative matter that does not require consultation, you will be able to find further document that sets out the LA's proposed Scheme of Co-ordination for 2013/2014 by following the link below.

If you would like to make comments on any aspect of the admission arrangements (policies) the consultation period will run until 28 February 2012. Comments can be made at any time up to and including 28 February 2012. They must be made in writing and can be submitted as follows:

By post, to:

The Admissions Team (FAO Simon Gilbert)
  Children's Services Directorate
  First Floor
  Overseas House
  Quay Street

  Manchester
M3 3 BB

By email to Simon Gilbert, at s.gilbert@manchester.gov.uk

All contributions to the consultation will be reported to the Academy Trust which will formally endorse new admission arrangements (policies).  The Local Authority will endorse a Scheme of Co-ordination. These will then be circulated to all consultees for information.
